To support DCP Events in developing and executing creative and innovative events that drive business results. To deliver best in class audio and visual support through exceptional communication, collaboration and creativity.
The Senior Technician will assist a team of technical and event managers to execute strategic business events in support of DCP initiatives. Will coordinate day-to-day technical operations of local facilities and support technical manager in planning large-scale offsite events. The Senior Technician will also independently manage and coordinate all audio visual (projection, lighting, audio, presentation support, and labor) for smaller internal and business partner programs as directed by event managers.
Responsibilities
•Responsible for the inventory planning, maintenance and operation of local onsite technical equipment.
•Primary technical operator for internal meetings and business partner events to include budget development, load in, execution and load out of video projection, lighting design, staging, switching multiple sources seamlessly, sound reinforcement, signal distribution to various locations, providing house sound/signal to videographers, event streaming, and presentation troubleshooting to ensure a seamless technical event.
•Liaison with service providers, event managers, communication partners and clients on audio visual solutions to best meet meeting goals.
•The ability to troubleshoot and efficiently remedy AV-related problems as they arise (particularly under pressure, during a ''live'' presentation).
•Timely completion of assignments in accordance with event manager planning timelines, demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness and problem solving skills.
•Must be able to manage external technical resources.
•Setup, support and establish rehearsal schedules as needed.
•High level of organizational skills necessary to balance multiple projects with short timelines and cycles.
•Proven ability to design and develop floor plans and signal flow applications.
•Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
•Strong oral and written communications and project management skills
•Must possess a positive/can-do attitude and be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced demanding environment
•Must be a self-starter, team player with a genuine enthusiasm for Disney, consumer products, and special events.
•Must be comfortable interacting with executives
Basic Qualifications
•Candidates must have at least 3 years of hands-on technical production experience in meeting management, events, conventions and/or corporate conferences preferably in a hotel, corporate or entertainment environment.
•Intermediate to advanced technical knowledge of professional A/V equipment including microphones, sound mixers, patch bays, video switchers, data projectors and PC/Mac presentation software.
•Prior experience in working with and/or for TWDC a plus
Preferred Qualifications
•Keynote and Presentation troubleshooting skills
•Lighting, stage design, camera, audio application, stage management
•Flexible schedule as evenings and weekends are involved
•Ability for travel
•Must be in good physical condition as the position requires constant walking, maneuvering equipment with cables, a/c cords and electrical current, with an ability to lift, push, and carry standard, heavy audio visual equipment through narrow passageways (including accessing ceilings and roofs).
•Must be able to climb ladders and operate a hydraulic lift in high positions for prolonged periods of time.
•Willing to lay cable, connecting machines, operating equipment.
•Able to lift fifty (50) pounds. Able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. Able to handle multiple tasks, frequently with short time frames, prioritize and organize work and to complete assignments in a timely fashion.
Required Education
Associates degree or equivalent in video production, engineering, or audio design.
