The Manager, Diversity & Inclusion is a high impact role responsible for evolving and championing diversity and inclusion initiatives across the enterprise at The Walt Disney Company.
Key focus of this role is to help drive strategic business imperatives and opportunities by linking Corporate D&I strategies and programs to key business plans and priorities.
This role will help The Walt Disney Company achieve measurable results by providing research, planning, program management, and consulting expertise that is aligned to industry best practice, advances an inclusive culture, and helps grow organizational competency.
Responsibilities
Program Development and Support:
Assists with the development and implementation of enterprise-wide D&I programs and initiatives in support of workforce, workplace, and marketplace goals. This requires proven project management skills including research, planning, organizing, developing, and participating in and/or leading company-wide cross functional teams. Must be cognizant of key functional dependencies across the organization and help build consensus. Must be willing to travel.
Research and Planning:
Provide research and benchmarking on best practice, recommending strategies and solutions in support of new programs or organizational relationships. Assist with the continuous improvement of existing diversity initiatives to position The Walt Disney Company as a recognized diversity and inclusion leader in the industry and in the community. These programs may include but are not limited to talent attraction/development programs, employee resource groups, diversity focused events, and partnerships/outreach with local, regional, and global organizations.
This role may manage the preparation process for external survey submissions, working extensively across HR and other teams to gather and integrate data, ensuring continuous improvement of employer brand and positive visibility of The Walt Disney Company.
Consulting and Relationship Management:
Create and sustain strategic relationships with internal partners that align to talent sourcing and talent development solutions. Help facilitate new and/or strengthen current engagement opportunities with external organizations, conferences, and events. Consult to improve overall environment, ensuring we foster a culture that is inclusive, innovative, willing to take risks, and that proactively leverages multiple dimensions of diversity. This role requires collaboration, someone who is a team player who leads by example and builds credibility.
This role will work closely with Human Resources teams and key stakeholders across the enterprise to advance business deliverables and priorities.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Diversity & Inclusion and Human Resources (e.g. employee relations, HR business partner, learning & development, organization development, and/or recruitment) or related field experience
• Proven experience in Diversity strategy development
• Proven consulting and/or change management experience with a Diversity & Inclusion focus
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
• Proven experience in managing multiple projects with strong prioritization skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to lead and influence at all levels within the organization
• Demonstrated strong quantitative, analytical and research skills
• Demonstrated strong integration and planning skills
• Demonstrated strong written/verbal communication and facilitation/presentation skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and identify creative solutions
• Proven experience with community involvement/volunteerism
• Ability to develop and communicate verbal and written presentations that influence and engage internal and external partners and stakeholders
• Proven experience and strong understanding of continuous improvement and measurement processes
• Ability to conduct analysis, and report on ROI, progress, gaps and opportunities that drive program enhancements
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or other presentation software
Preferred Qualifications
• Proven experience working with external organizations and consultants focused on diversity and inclusion
• International/Global experience
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in human resources, psychology, organization development or related.
