Position Summary:
The Shipper / Driver is responsible for the shipping and receiving of all packages - locally, domestically, and internationally following Sim procedures as detailed in the Sim Digital Shipping Procedures manual. The Shipper / Driver are also responsible for providing quick, reliable and courteous delivery service to and from customers and/or suppliers, with safety as a top priority.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Shipping / Receiving
• Greets clients/vendors in a professional and friendly manner and always offers help when loading in and out gear
• Assists in keeping the warehouse, shipping and receiving, tech storage, prep bays and kitchen area clean and organized
• Adheres to the Sim Digital Shipping Procedures manual for all shipping and receiving manners as well as being accountable for the completion, accuracy and submission of all relevant paperwork for operations and accounting departments.
• Ensures that all shipping paperwork is properly filled out, that clients sign and receive the correct paperwork and that all paperwork is filed in its proper place
• Operates assign company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
• Adheres to the laws of the State/Provincial Highways Commissions
• Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service
• Attends training and continuously develops relevant knowledge and skills
• Demonstrates an understanding of the mission, vision, and values of Sim Digital
• Travels and works overtime when and if required
• Carries a pager and participates as scheduled on the on-call rotation
• Attends staff meetings as required
Driving:
• Operates assigned vehicle(s) in a safe and courteous manner
• Provides a quick, effective, delivery/pick-up service, with an emphasis on defensive driving
• Adheres to the rules and regulations of the State/Provincial Highways Commission
• Co-ordinates with the Warehouse Supervisor to create an efficient driving schedule
• Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service • Receives and inspects all gear received from vendors and/or clients and cross references with original PO's from SIM
• Provides a communication link between customers, clients and staff
• Greets clients/vendors in a professional and friendly manner
• Fuels the assigned vehicle(s) and maintains an adequate level of gas for others
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management
• Immediately notifies the Supervisor of any traffic violations, including parking tickets, acquired while on duty, and fills out all required paperwork
• Keeps the assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside, and reports any problem(s) and/or damage to management
• Ensures that the vehicle(s) receives a check-up regularly
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Ability to establish effective relationships with customers and co-workers
• Ability to read and interpret road signs in English
• Valid Driver's license with a clean record
• Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs
• Comfortable driving panel vans and cube trucks
• Proficiency in the use of computer programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) and office equipment:
• Basic windows proficiency, as tech required to learn the windows based R2 software
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in film and/or television production related field;

• Adaptability/Flexibility - adapts easily to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities
• Attention to Detail - ensures that standards for self, staff, equipment and services are set, reviewed and surpassed regularly to provide excellent service delivery.
• Customer Service Focus - deliberately identifies and creates opportunities to improve every person's experience with Sim Video
• Development & Continual Learning - demonstrates an ongoing commitment to learning and self-improvement
• Equipment Operation - Utilizes knowledge of equipment, gear, tools or vehicles to transport goods and create/maintain or repair equipment that fully satisfies the demands of the assignment.
• Teamwork - participates actively in a team to improve the Company's effectiveness
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
• Some physical effort required as everyone on the Sim team is asked from time to time to pitch in and help share the load.
• Some exposure to physical risk
