Position Summary:
The Manager: Information Technology role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the POST Division of SIM Group. This individual will project manage systems implementations, plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT related activities of the division, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The Manager: Information Technology will work closely with Senior Management, General Managers and decision makers in the POST division to understand their business, identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also help define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
This is a management position and is exempt from overtime pay.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management & Business Analysis
• Primary Project Manager on system implementation projects
• Manage business case justifications
• Work with stakeholders to define and prioritize business requirements for enhancements and new technology implementations
• Manage projects and project portfolio
Relationship Management
• Establish and maintain communications with the division's management, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
• Sustain IT corporate governance processes
• Work closely with division's management to determine and implement innovative approaches to improve day to day effectiveness
Strategy & Planning
• In conjunction with VP of IT, develop and maintain, with input and approval from management, an IT strategic plan that is in alignment with the company's strategic business plan
• Fosters Innovation within the Business and Technology
• In conjunction with VP of IT, direct research on potential technology solutions in support of business improvements
• Keeps current with the latest technologies and advise management of advances that are relevant to the business
Operational Management
• Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, backup, recovery and support of all IT systems, including cloud services, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals and telecommunications equipment.
• Oversee the delivery of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services
• Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
• Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and Telecommunication systems.
• In conjunction with the VP of IT manage all financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review
• Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision
Reporting & Analytics
• Develop requirements for reports and dashboards for various aspects of post-production including financial, management and operational to ensure efficiencies are improved and business goals achieved
Vendor Management
• Negotiate and administer vendor and consultant contracts and service agreements
• Maintain strong vendor relationships
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Formal Education & Certification
• University, college or equivalent experience in the field of Information Technology and a minimum of 8 to 10 years related work experience in successfully managing IT projects, and steady advancement to IT Leadership positions in similar or larger size organizations.
Knowledge & Experience
• Experience in project management and systems deployment
• Experience with order, asset, resource management systems (Media Pulse) an asset
• Experience in business analysis
• Experience with data and business analytics
• Experience leading an IT team
• Technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Apple & Microsoft technologies, current network hardware, backup, protocols, and standards
• Experience with the Post Production industry an asset

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
• Some physical effort required (i.e. some lifting of supplies and material)
• Long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
• Some exposure to warehouse environment
• Occasionally work hours can be excessive, including weekend and evening work
• Travel 10% - during the work week and/or weekend
