ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director, Artist & Talent position provides a critical and rewarding opportunity to join the ONE team will drive the organization's work to engage high-profile individuals in our effort. S/he will also lead the development of our Artist and Talent strategy, working with colleagues across the Marketing Department and country teams to deliver. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as well as being highly organized and driven by ONE's mission. The candidate should thrive in constantly changing fast-paced environments, work well in team settings and have strong prioritization skills. This full-time, rock-star opportunity reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and is based in our Washington, DC office.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Collaborate with key stakeholders, identify, cultivate and deploy influencer relationships in support of ONE's work.
Develop and implement a global Artist and Talent (A&T) Strategy to advance our mission and brand.
Devise A&T strategies for priority campaigns and work with team to implement.
Provide on-going guidance and direction to staff across markets; motivate team members and consultants, delegate appropriately and ensure strong internal communication and teamwork.
Work closely with the Creative Director to devise and execute creative concepts with A&T.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with A&T management and provide support to senior staff with existing relationships to deliver maximum benefit.
Provide quality control and manage legal processes where required.
Manage multiple projects from conception to completion and be willing to support others at crucial moments to deliver outstanding campaigns.
Devise operating procedures for A&T management, including systematizing relationships.
Provide input to the CMO on short- and long-term strategic and operational planning and positioning.
Stay on top of and communicate relevant trends in this area.
Support meeting preparation and briefings for CMO where required.
Help foster a collaborative environment where the best ideas can be developed and thrive.
Research and discover new external relationships that align with ONE's campaign goals in order to improve ONE's ability to reach target audiences.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
At least seven (7) years of experience in the field of marketing or communications with at least 2 focused on talent development;
Strong conceptual thinker able to take ONE's policy change objectives and deploy A&T strategies in support of these;
Understanding of how to deploy artists and talent successfully against campaign and advocacy objectives;
Demonstrated network of relevant relationships;
Exceptional interpersonal and skills;
Proven excellence in relationship management;
Deft understanding of political and public audiences;
Aptitude and experience of risk and brand management;
Excellent copywriting and communication skills;
Strong understanding of social media and the role digital plays in campaigning;
Management skills and experience including planning, evaluation, managing and motivating staff, and financial management;
Both tenacity and flexibility;
Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration;
Time management and the ability to hit tight deadlines;
Able to quantify performance through metrics and statistics;
Ability to consistently apply good judgment and make good and responsible decisions
Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times
