Video Editor (Staff)
The Muse is looking for a Video Editor to join our growing production team. In this position, you'll work closely with our Multimedia Producer to create the video content that is showcased on profiles for companies like Dropbox, Bloomberg, Reebok and The Muse.
As the lead editor, you'll be responsible for editing our video content, using the shooting notes, raw footage and production audio provided by The Muse's shoot coordinators in cities around the country.
You'll also manage a team of freelance editors (who'll be working either in-studio or remotely) to ensure that videos are scheduled, edited, uploaded and input into our CMS in a timely fashion, and at a quality/in a style that's true to The Muse and to the companies we're profiling.
Why we'll love you:
-You have proven experience in video editing, and fluency in editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro)
-You have a great eye for story and story editing (especially in the documentary style, but in narrative and other styles as well)
-You're skilled in offline color correction (grading in Premiere or Apple Color) and audio editing (noise reduction, sound design, etc)
-Photo editing (Photoshop) comes naturally to you. Motion graphics (After Effects, Apple Motion) are a huge plus.
-You have experience managing a team of freelance editors (in-person and remotely) and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of a large volume of content
-You're familiar with content management systems, project management systems, FTP's, and other digital technologies
-You have a strong attention to detail and rarely let things fall through the cracks
-You're excited to work with the leadership team to suggest improvements to the post-production process
