The Senior Membership Coordinator will recruit and retain voting and associate membership in the terms established by The Latin Recording Academy (The Latin GRAMMYs) while maintaining a fair balance among categories, genres of music and geographical areas.
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate the production of Latin GRAMMY events aimed to the goals of membership as one of the strategies to increase membership and keep current members involved and motivated.
• Secure proper archival materials by recordings, videotaping, photography and the use of social networks under the policy of the Organization.
• Identify opportunities to recruit members, including musicians, performers, legendary figures, video producers, engineers, etc.
• Keep members informed of all the initiatives, services and opportunities.
• As needed, work in coordination with Awards, Finance, Business Development, Operations and involve local members whose participation is essential in LARAS' events.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelors Degree, preferably in Music, Public Relations/Communications, or Business.
• Experience organizing events, including coordination with members, sponsors and local authorities.
• Knowledge of and basic experience with the Latin Music World.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office with prior experience managing databases.
• Strong customer service and presentation skills with the ability to communicate fluently in Spanish and English. Portuguese is a plus.
• Available to travel nationally and internationally to participate in events as needed.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize under the pressure of tight deadlines, while remaining organized with attention to detail.
• Must be comfortable creating and participating in a team environment, including taking on additional tasks as needed to help accomplish the achievements of Membership and The Latin Recording Academy, while safeguarding confidential information.
