The Documentary Group (Cartel Land, Girl Rising, Operation Homecoming) is looking for an enthusiastic intern to assist the development team at our New York office for the Spring semester- starting in January 2017. Our program is open to current college students and recent graduates interested in developing documentary films and series from the ground up. Course credit can be arranged.
As an intern, you would have the opportunity to learn about the research, writing and pitching process, as well as gain insight into funding and distribution. Daily activities will include assisting the small development team with research, story development, creating treatments, funding opportunities, and general office tasks.
Appropriate candidates should:
-Have an interest in documentary filmmaking
-Have strong research and writing skills
-Be able to work well in a team environment and on independent projects
-Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Mac operating system. Proficiency in graphics/design is a plus.
