Title: Publicity and Promotions Coordinator

THE MRKT is the newly rebranded multicultural marketing and communications division of Terry Hines & Associates (THA), a leader in the entertainment-marketing arena for over 40 years. The one-stop shop offers a comprehensive approach to connecting with diverse multicultural demographics through its specialized groups, each representing the different letters of the brand, including Más (Hispanic-targeted publicity + promotions for entertainment clients), Rithem (multicultural marketing + communications for consumer brands), Kroma (multicultural social media marketing + creative), and Transform (African-American-targeted publicity + promotions for entertainment properties).
The Publicity and Promotions Coordinator for Transform will provide administrative support and assistance in executing publicity, promotion and grassroots marketing campaigns specifically aimed at African-American consumers for major motion pictures, television shows and other entertainment properties. The detailed-oriented position provides direct support to the Vice President and full account team.
Responsibilities:
• Prioritize and execute day-to-day publicity and promotional directives assigned by Transform leadership, keeping them informed on the status of projects on a regular basis
• Provide pitching, planning and staffing support for publicity and promotional activities, including phone interviews, PA tours, in-studio appearances, press days, junkets, premieres, press and promotional screenings, and events as needed
• Track publicity and promotions coverage across all platforms in national and regional outlets and compile clips, links, air checks, media values and impressions for inclusion in daily breaks, as well as in weekly and final reports
• Help develop and/or compile client related communications and materials, including publicity plans, client/talent schedules, pitch emails, status reports/updates, final reports, promotional screening reports, press screening reactions, and event recaps, ensuring they are submitted in an accurate and timely manner
• Developing and/or reviewing/compiling client related communications including meeting agendas, weekly reports, daily breaks/tune-ins, campaign proposals/plans, tailored directives, overviews/recaps, and final reports
• Assist in researching campaign elements and associated costs for proposals and plans, including but not limited to applicable media outlets, influencers, bloggers, alternative angles, key events, faith groups/outlets, word-of-mouth groups, community organizations, retail locations, HBCU opportunities, and more
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients, staff, media partners, celebrities, influencers, community organizations, and vendors
• Remain tuned-in to the African American market and media landscape, and compile relevant news items on a weekly basis for THE MRKT client newsletter
• Assisting and providing staffing support for press junkets, press days, PA tours, screenings, special events, and promotional grassroots events as needed, including night and weekend work
• Maintain a clean and up-to-date media and word-of-mouth database, while researching and expanding partnerships with new outlets and influencers
• Handle administrative duties for the departments, including vendor and client billing processes, expense reports, shipping, time sheets, setting/organizing meetings, and other tasks as needed
• Coordinate and participate in brainstorms sessions, contributing fresh, creative, and executable ideas
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; entertainment marketing and publicity background a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills?
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to remain focused while performing a variety of projects simultaneously
• Punctuality and reliability
• Ability to commit to working long hours, as some projects will require evenings and weekends activities both in the office and off-site
• Working knowledge of internet software; spreadsheet software (Excel); word processing software (Word); electronic mail software (MacMail); and presentation software (PowerPoint, Keynote)
