Job Description for Programming Coordinator - Santa Monica
General Description: Tennis Channel's Programming Coordinator is responsible for producing and administering many different aspects of the channel's programming scheduling and inventory management. The programming inventory is very robust and includes Live Matches, edited matches, and original and acquired programming.
Overview: The Position of Programming Coordinator will be responsible for the data base management within the SIMS computer inventory system. This position requires attention to a multitude of scheduling details and timely response to the fluidity of live sports. They will be an essential team member that will support the Senior Manager, Program Planning with the execution of daily, monthly and long-term objectives. The ideal candidate is a highly proactive team member who works well in a fast paced collaborative environment.
Daily Responsibilities:
• Management of tournament and programming contracts within the SIMS database programming system
• Creation and support of overall programming scheduling details in conjunction with Tennis Channel's programming team
• Facilitate necessary programming changes and communicate them to all internally and externally relevant departments and business partners
• Trouble shoot programming concerns with Master Control, Transmission, Promotion, Sales and Traffic on database issues
• Maintain internal tape/programming ID inventory
• Prepare and execute alternate programming logs for all live events
• Assist with department duties and special projects as assigned by senior department managers
• Preparation and Execution of various Special Projects as requested
Requirements:
• Knowledge of television and media terminology
• Awareness of Tennis Channel programming schedule
• Ability to proactively troubleshoot, problem-solve and communicate in a professional manner
• Demonstrate time management and coordination skills for a critical detailed database
Qualifications:
. 2-5 years experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Detail oriented, excellent written and oral communication skills
• Team player with strong inter-personal skill
• Ability to proactively access issues, solve problems and implement changes within an urgent environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience preferred with SIMS and database management systems
• Ability to work independently, as well as a strong part of the Programming Team
Bonus Qualifications:
• Live broadcast sports experience
