Job Description for Art Director, On-Air Motion GFX
Tennis Channel is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and tennis lifestyle. Tennis Channel holds the telecast rights to, Wimbledon, Roland Garros (French Open), Australian Open, ATP Masters Series, and the Davis Cup and Fed Cup. Tennis Channel is carried by nine of the top 10 MSOs, Verizon FiOS TV, and has a national footprint via DIRECTV and DISH Network.
Skills
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Broadcast and/or Cable
• Expertise in motion design for broadcast
• Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Compressor
• Working knowledge of Premiere, Avid, Duet and EVS
• Expert knowledge of video and audio formats, broadcast equipment
• Experience in workflow and management of graphic design projects
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral
• Self-starter, capable of independently managing multiple projects with multiple clients
• Must be available on select weekends and/or coordinate on-call responsibilities
• Experience at sports network highly desirable
Duties
• Work within the On-Air Design department at Tennis Channel, which provides design services to the Production, Marketing, and Original Programming departments
• Work closely with broadcast operators, directors and engineers to ensure correct and appropriate formats and deliveries
• Establish goals, timelines and parameters, and translate them into conceptual and creative guidelines to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveries
• Design graphics packages at various scales, from full-featured tournament packages to rapid-turnaround special features
• Present designs and concepts internally and to clients, and facilitate communication between designers, departments and outside agencies
• Establish and maintain documentation on deliverables, deadlines, specifications and destinations for each project
• Build graphics tool kits and modular elements for outside agencies and well as in-house producers
• Build graphics on a daily basis to support ongoing projects
• Schedule and assign graphics packages, show titles, sponsored features, specific tournament graphics to junior designers on an ongoing basis
• Design and implement workflow solutions and elements for web, mobile and streaming destinations
• Maintain or supervise maintenance of digital archives, internal and for outside needs (Dropbox, etc)
• Work with Creative Director to establish creative tone, maintain brand control, and supervise implementation of graphics
