Job Description for Jr. Research Analyst/Research Analyst
Tennis Channel is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and tennis lifestyle. A hybrid of comprehensive sports, health, fitness, pop culture, entertainment, lifestyle and travel programming, the network is home to every aspect of the wide-ranging, worldwide tennis community. It also has the most concentrated single-sport coverage in television, with telecast rights to the US Open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros (French Open), Australian Open, US Open Series, ATP Masters Series, top-tier Sony WTA Tour championship competitions, Davis Cup and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, and Hyundai Hopman Cup. Tennis Channel is carried by nine of the top 10 MSOs, Verizon FiOS TV, and has a national footprint via DIRECTV and DISH Network.
Jr. Research Analyst/Research Analyst Position
Position: This position supports Tennis Channel, the website and Tennis Channel Plus (digital subscription service) in all aspects of television and digital video audience measurement by assisting the Research Department in building analyses, reports and PowerPoint sales presentations. This is a very high visibility position and services virtually every other department at the Channel including Programming, Affiliate Relations, Ad Sales, Marketing and Corporate. This position is ideal for someone early in his or her career in the business side of television and digital content that can lead to careers in media research, sales, programming, and distribution.
Daily Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Produce morning ratings reports
• Retrieve, interpret and utilize viewing data and consumer behavior for use in sales presentations and reports
• Assist in building analyses, reports and PowerPoint sales presentations
• Aid in analysis and storytelling through the use of qualitative and quantitative data gathered using Nielsen, Ipsos, Rentrak/Comscore, MRI and other data sources
• Undertake projects focused on audience trends
• General administrative duties
Qualifications:
• BA degree required
• Math proficiency required
• Statistics proficiency is a plus, but not required
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Excellent writing skills
• Strong analytical ability
• Accuracy and fact-checking ability
• Ability to juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines
• Good listening skills and ability to learn quickly
• High level of attention to detail
• Sound organizational skills
• Experience in television audience research and/or a background in statistics preferred
• Sports knowledge a plus
