Associate Director, Business & Legal Affairs

Our network is home to every aspect of the wide-ranging, worldwide tennis community. Tennis Channel is carried nationwide by the top MSOs, as well as DirecTV and DISH Network.
Position: Associate Director, Business & Legal Affairs
Requirements:
• Negotiating and drafting programming, acquisition, development and production agreements within a sports environment, which include agreements for talent and all legal matters during the course of production
• Ability to review, revise, negotiate and draft various signal transport rights and other technical operations agreements
• Ability to work as part of team responsible for network's distribution to MSO's/MVPD's
• Areas of responsibility also include licensing, marketing matters, evaluating rights/chain of title issues, clearance matters, advertising, sponsorship, promotion, publicity, internet issues, drafting/review of sweepstakes and promotions as well as general corporate issues including oversight of general legal and business practices and content standards
• Advise and coordinate with executives and other personnel to identify and resolve business and legal issues, contract interpretation, and provide ongoing counsel, advice and support
• Experience working with senior management as part of a litigation team
Qualifications:
• Sports media background
• Minimum 2 years' professional experience
• J.D. and member in good standing of a U.S. state bar (California preferred)
• Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team to problem solve and negotiate deals
• Outstanding interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a range of personalities and establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization and with outside business partners
• Excellent communication skills and computer literacy
• Exceptional drafting and analytical skills
• Capacity to handle a heavy work load, while maintaining a strong work-ethic and high level of self-motivation
