Tennis Channel is the only 24-hour, television-based multimedia destination dedicated to both the professional sport and tennis lifestyle. Tennis Channel holds the telecast rights to, Wimbledon, Roland Garros (French Open), Australian Open, ATP Masters Series, and the Davis Cup and Fed Cup. Tennis Channel is carried by nine of the top 10 MSOs, Verizon FiOS TV, and has a national footprint via DIRECTV and DISH Network.
Tennis Channel is seeking a full-time staff Assistant Editor to support the On-Air Creative/Promos Department. Candidate must be able to work evening shifts Monday-Friday 6p-2a. Some weekends may also be required during busy periods.
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-Manage disk space, file structure, workflow and delivery of departmental projects
-Keep track of digital media, ensuring it is labeled, stored, media managed and archived correctly
-Versioning of on-air promos, ensuring accuracy of audio tags and end graphics
-Outputting materials to a variety of formats: Quicktime, MP4, HD Cam, DVD
-QC and delivery of final materials internally and externally via digital transfer (Aspera), FTP, Dropbox and tape
-Digitizing and Sub-clipping footage, entering metadata and maintaining online digital footage library
-Preparing projects, gathering elements and creating string outs for producers and editors prior to edit
-Assist with rough cutting promos and sales videos as needed
-Gathering, cutting out, treating and managing logos for company use
-Building and updating graphic-intensive lower third promos and interstitials based on existing templates
-Address departmental projects and requests as needed
-Play key role digitizing and organizing legacy assets in network archival project
-Work with IT department to oversee and troubleshoot edit facilities (Macs, PCs, video cards, and tape decks) for freelance editors and producers
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Minimum 1 year work related experience
-Must have professional experience working in Avid environment
-Must have strong understanding of Mac OS & Windows platforms
-Must be proficient using Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere
-Must have knowledge of file transfer software (Aspera, Signiant, Dropbox)
-Digital Media Asset Management System experience strongly preferred
-Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with computer hardware, software and tape decks extremely helpful
-Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud Programs (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) strongly preferred
-Understanding of XSAN environment strongly preferred
-Knowledge of AJA Kona Video Cards and Sony video decks of various formats (HDCam, Beta SP, Digibeta) strongly preferred
-Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
-Must be task-oriented, self-motivated and able work effectively with minimal supervision
-Knowledge of tennis (Players, Tournaments) extremely helpful
