Chief Audio Engineer provides leadership and management in conjunction with the Senior Audio Engineer to create an Audio department that provides the highest quality service and support of our multi-venue performing arts complex.
Objectives:
1. Provide professional audio expertise to running of audio department.
2. Create and implement maintenance projects of audio gear and spaces.
3. Oversees implementation and maintenance of lobbies, control booths, and master control equipment and systems as well as all 4 theaters and support areas.
4. Works closely with Senior Audio Engineer and Technical Director in management of audio staff and equipment related to audio department.
Primary Duties:
1. Monitor and manage budgets related to audio equipment and department.
2. Monitor and manage audio inventories and usage among clients.
3. Plan for major, annual and regular maintenance of audio equipment.
4. Maintains audio-related equipment and systems in Master Control room.
5. Interfaces with personnel of other departments to provide services or route signal and information as required
6. Provides event and facility technical support to the Technical Director and
Operations Manager per their requests.
7. Supervises crew in the running and maintenance of audio department.
The above listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.
Qualification Requirements:
Experience Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 4 years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
College education highly desired.
Skills and Knowledge Required
1. Extensive theatrical knowledge of various technical positions.
2. Highly adept organizational, communication, and computer skills.
3. In-depth knowledge of theatrical audio systems, audio and video equipment, and possessing sound design capabilities.
4. Ability to manage staff and equipment.
5. Ability to manage inventories, and maintenance of all theaters and support spaces.
6. Computer software knowledge (i.e. Excel, Word)
