Details: Job Summary:

The Public Relations Associate is responsible for the ongoing publicity and promotion of several entertainment properties, including a television show and online destination websites. The PR Associate reports to and works closely with PR management to develop and execute communications and public relations programs to raise awareness, drive tune-in and increase website traffic.

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Prepare and execute proactive and reactive PR plans to promote show and website properties
•Pitch stories to mainstream media
•Develop and maintain relationships with trade press and bloggers, and facilitate interviews
•Draft and distribute story synopses and other show-related information to media outlets weekly
•Work with PR management to prepare and execute PR plans, in connection with show and websites’ production and editorial calendars to drive new and repeat traffic
•Identify opportunities to utilize talent and spokespeople in broadcast and other mainstream media
•Integrate into and maintain a productive working relationship with show and websites’ production teams by attending weekly meetings and making editorial suggestions to enable PR execution


Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field, 3-5 years hands-on experience pitching a variety of media outlets including local and national television, print, online and entertainment press. Experience using digital/social media in PR efforts will be critical to performing this job well. The position requires strong verbal and written communications skills, attention to detail, and the ability to execute plans with excellence and a prompt turnaround. The right candidate will be enthusiastic about the work, have a can-do attitude and be a positive teamplayer.


Special Position Requirements:
Occasional domestic travel is required.
Salary: $50,000 Exempt and full benefits
