Search for Director, On-Air Promotions & Branded Content jobs in Playa Vista-CA
The Director, On-air Promotion and Branded Content Strategy will lead the messaging strategy for promotion of all on-air and cross platform content. The Director will direct and manage the work of the Writer/Producer/Editors, including script development, editing and audio. They will lead concept development for various promo shoots, work with outside vendors, and liaise with other network departments. Reporting to the VP, Creative Director, this person should be an innovative, inspirational, and organized leader.
General:
• Key player in the network re-brand and development of the on-air brand voice and consistency across platforms.
• Manage the work of the Writer/Producers/Editors, Graphic Designers, and outside vendors.
• Serve as a creative lead on network priorities, including but not limited to launch campaigns and shoots, topicals, branding projects, plus digital and emerging media promos.
• Work closely with ad sales marketing to develop innovative client solutions and execute industry leading work.
• Manage department budget and oversee shoot budgets.
• Collaborate with other Directors to lead creative on on-air projects and brainstorming. Also, work closely with On-Air Production and Scheduling departments to ensure efficient delivery of promos.
• Responsible for assigning his/her team to projects and overseeing timely delivery of all projects.
• Lead Writers/Producers/Editors and Designers on solving creative issues. Encourage them to see things differently, to utilize outside creative tools for inspiration. Needs to be a conceptual thinker and a creative motivator, while also being proactive and detail-oriented
• Identify internal/external resources to address promotional needs and opportunities.
• Think in terms of business management including demonstrating cost effective ways to increase productivity, manage expenses, etc.
• Build, develop and support a strong creative and strategically focused team.?
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the On Air Promotion field at a broadcast network or entertainment cable network.
• Minimum 4 years of experience shooting / conceiving / overseeing live shoots.
• Strong communication/diplomacy skills. Intrinsic understanding of each department's function at a cable network
• Ability to strategically promote network priorities
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and schedules.
• Creative & strategic problem solver.
• Develop and grow the brand voice, tone, manner and style with ability to communicate clearly to team - as well as assess the work of each Writer/ Producer / Editor and Graphic Designer in this regard.
• Management experience preferred: TV network or related video / production business.
