Job Summary:
The Associate Features Producer will be a vital part of the features department working with the senior features producer to streamline content for TVG television and social media.
The incumbent will write metadata to original footage shot in the field, coordinate footage to be imported/backed up between the assistant Avid editor and Avid editor, coordinate produced feature elements between producers and uploads to YouTube, write YouTube descriptions, field produce, direct voice over sessions.
Essential Functions:
• Coordinate footage needed in Avid from original ENG camera and archival library footage, plus securing any footage needed from an outside source.
• Responsible for writing metadata and titling clips from XDCamera to be archived and imported into Avid for editors
• Work closely with Assistant Editor and Editor about any new ENG footage available, placing in clearly labeled bins which allows the editor to easily locate in Avid
• Work with the Graphics Department creating any graphics that are needed for features
• Communicate with Senior Features Producer, Producers, and library/YouTube team distributing 411 information of all completed feature elements ready for air/steaming
• Knowledge on how to write descriptions, key word metadata to attract viewers to TVG's YouTube page, creating palylists, and thumbnails that best create an engaging channel
• Transcribe/log footage and interviews for features
• Field produce ENG camera shoots on location
• Having a desire to learn the sport of horse racing.
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of all facets of broadcast post-production and feature elements that extend to social media, experience required
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem solving skills; ability to think creatively in the development of ideas and solutions
• Excellent verbal /communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work; Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline heavy, high pressure, team environment
• The ability to keep the Senior Features Producer, Editor, and Assistant Editor up to date on status of imported footage and completed feature elements ready to be broadcast/stream
• General knowledge of sports
Experience/Training/Education/Certification:
Minimum AA degree in film, television, or related degree program
Minimum of three (3) years in a live broadcast production environment preferable in sports
Experience in a fast paced, team setting
