TVGN (TV Guide Network - A CBS/Lionsgate Partnership) has an immediate opening for a Vice President, Development to join its Programming team.
TVGN has an opening for a Director/Vice-President, Development who reports to SVP Original Programming and Development
Responsibilities for this position will include:
Takes regular meetings with Agents, Production Companies, and Producers to field pitches, cultivate relationships, and keep apprised of industry trends
Evaluates pitches, pilots, and sizzle reels and makes recommendations to senior management team
Develops new series ideas based on pop culture /industry trends and internal network research
Oversees production from development process through series post-production, including creative, legal, casting, staffing and production supervision
Acts as liaison between production entities and Network department heads, including PR/Social Media, VOD, Marketing, S & P, Legal, Research, Sales/Marketing integrations, and Affiliate Relations
Ability to manage Development Staff, including assigning daily/weekly duties and mentoring junior team members
Attend markets, conventions and festivals as requested
Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 years' experience in television production and/or development
• Extensive experience as a network or production company executive is strongly desired
• Must have a strong knowledge of and relationships with key industry players, including Packaging and Talent Agents, top Production Companies/Producers, etc.
• Pop culture junkie with a particular focus on television, music, pop-culture, social media and emerging trends -- past and present
• Ability to identify unique properties that are on-brand for the network, and react quickly to create successful programming
• Self-starter who proactively seeks ways of developing his/her own skills, while taking direction, support and feedback from the Senior Team
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong ability to show initiative and multi-task in a fast paced, collaborative environment
• Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel in-person, in-writing, and on the telephone
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must have strong business and personal ethics
