Overview and Responsibilities
The Media Planning Assistant is responsible for executing linear promotion strategy for TV
Land, including all associated operational tasks; this position also functions as an Administrative Assistant to the SVP of Programming, Media Planning and Acquisitions.
Responsibilities:
• Execute linear (network) media plans
• Write and input all primary (promos, interstitials) and secondary (graphics, credit crunches) elements on assigned logs
• Ensure that all sponsor and barter commitments are executed as planned
• Maintain formats in the traffic system
• QC Logs for accuracy and strategy
• Generate Media Planning documents that assist and inform log execution (ie: promo bin, event break charts, etc.)
• Generate As-Run reports
• Produce quarterly disaster recovery logs
• PSA coordination of materials
• Quarterly tracking and reporting
• Coordinate/schedule all meetings on behalf of SVP
• This includes scheduling and managing catering for network screening events
• Cover SVP phone and take messages as necessary
• Act as a liaison with other TV Land department assistants
• Coordinate department events as needed
• Facilitate misc department tasks, such as ordering office supplies and coordinating moves
• Participate in Media Planning brainstorms that develop promo and graphic concepts
• Media Planning group projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications
• 1-2 years professional experience/internship in media or related field
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in relevant area of study
Additional Qualifications
• Strong attention to detail and enthusiasm for the QC process
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience with PTS or scheduling/traffic software a plus
