Position Description
The HR Generalist (full-time, salaried, regular) is a dynamic, common sense professional who will be responsible for performing various duties across all HR functions while establishing and maintaining effective ''win-win'' working relationships with all employees. Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Administer, communicate, and support various HR programs, plans, and procedures for all employees.
• Assist in the development and implementation of employee policy and procedures.
• Answer employee questions not limited to: time off including leave of absence, risk management, HR policy/procedure interpretation, performance management, recruitment, and health insurance.
• Execute HRIS transactions regarding employee status changes while maintaining data integrity and run ad hoc reports.
• Respond, investigate, and make recommendations to resolve employee relation issues and escalating as necessary; providing counseling and supporting progressive discipline.
• Increase the understanding of and maintain fair and consistent application of company policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, and communication.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements are met with regard to employee-related actions/practices to minimize exposure to liability.
• Review and process unemployment claims.
• Administer/Facilitate the company's leave of absence process.
• Facilitate the creation of job descriptions with supervisors.
• Prepare offers and participate in onboarding and conducting new hire orientation.
• Engages in other generalist duties and researches and completes HR projects as needed.
• Working occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Supervisory Responsibility:
• This position may include supervising one or more employees where applicable.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration; emphasis in Human Resources Management is preferred.
• Three to four years of progressive human resources experience in a generalist capacity in an office environment.
• Prior experience with HRIS; ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment law.
• Knowledge of leave of absence process, procedure, and documentation.
• Able to project plan and scope.
• Able to support multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines; be solutions-orientation when problem solving and able to demonstrate a sense of urgency.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize with efficiency.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
• Able to maintain confidentiality when necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Punctual, proactive, and able to take initiative; motivated self-starter.
• Must be customer service driven.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Able to work independently and as a team, with and without supervision.
Physical Requirements:
• This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit for prolonged period of time and view computer screen.
• The ability to listen and speak with others.
• Some standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, pulling, moving, carrying approximately 10 pounds as necessary.
• Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment:
• Work is performed in an office environment that is well lit and ventilated.
