Platform Operations Engineer
Platform Operations Engineer will be responsible for performing encoding and packaging of all digital media content for new digital video growth markets including but not limited to Broadcast, VOD, Mobile, and Electronic Sell Thru. This Operator must have a varied and thorough knowledge of video processes from capture to compressions, a deep understanding of digital and television video formats, equipment, technology and workflow. Candidate must have a discriminating eye regarding video and audio quality from an evaluation perspective.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years' experience with video compression formats for broadcast and digital media platforms such as: JPEG, MPEG2, H.264/AVC and ProRes.
• Advanced knowledge of video Compression and Decompression techniques
• Knowledge of file formats and wrappers such as: MOV, MXF and F4V.
• Understanding of pre-processing techniques specifically for digital video filtering and scaling; frame rate and format conversions.
• Knowledge of Aspect Ratio Conversions
• Understanding of television standards such as NTSC and PAL
• Must have experience with common NLEs such as Premiere and Final Cut Pro
• Experienced using various encoding/transcoding applications such as: Digital Rapids, Rhozet, Vantage, FFMPEG
• Ability to use File transfer protocols such as: FTP, Aspera, Signiant.
• Must be familiar with Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Experience setting up and operating various HD and SD VTR's.
• Familiarity with XML
Specific Responsibilities:
• Monitoring of inbound/outbound content lanes per client defined specification.
• Creation and processing of media files per client defined specification.
• Prequalification of source assets for both quality and technical compliance.
• Creation and maintenance of internal and client facing reporting mechanisms.
• Metadata migration and formatting for large-scale databases.
• Asset quality control and digital library maintenance.
