DESCRIPTION
The Senior Financial Analyst role job is responsible for examining business and financial information in order to summarize trends and make sound suggestions regarding where risks and opportunities exist. This position will support the Head of Finance and Operations with examining operational and financial information. This is an exciting opportunity that blends an individual's desire to drive business decision making with their finance acumen while supporting a fast growing business. This role is expected to report the results of the analysis to functional leaders both internally and to Turner Broadcasting. This position is also responsible for accurately forecasting the business results on a monthly and annual basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for performing day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis for the company.
• Routine communication with Turner related to financial close issues and deliverables, forecasts and ad-hoc reporting.
• Responsible for month end close.
• Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations and monthly financial reporting package.
• Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, account analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.
• Develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of the business, apply analytical skills to the detection of trends and the development of forecasts, provide insightful advice and managerial tools and serve as change agents.
• Assists in the improvement of current reporting processes to make them more efficient (weekly, monthly and quarterly packages, as well as key metrics reports).
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
• 5-7 Years direct related experience; preferably Entertainment
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to analyze and interpret data
• Deadline orientated
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to act cross-functionally
