Job Title: Experienced Assistant Editor
Sunset Edit is currently looking for a full-time Assistant Editor with both offline/online prep and finishing skills. This position requires a wide knowledge of contemporary workflows and technologies, great attention to detail, and a strong technical background. Must have at least 2 years AE experience.
-- Be able to take a job from start to finish. Including importing footage, syncing, grouping, breaking it down, conforming, and delivering.
-- Have a deep understanding of current Digital Cinema workflows. I.e. RED, Alexa, Canon 5d/7d, SI 2K, Phantom, etc.
-- Proficient with the following software: Avid, FCP, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Photoshop, RED Cine, Autoduck, and Compressor.
-- Comfortable with complicated VFX workflows (making and managing FX lists, etc.) and file formats (DPX, Cineon, etc.)
-- Able to conform and oversee jobs involving many different people, companies, and stages. E.g. delivering stringouts for color, mix and vfx; AAFs/OMFs, XMLs, etc.
-- Be extremely organized and detail oriented. Must be able to be the final quality control for all jobs.
-- Be able to complete tasks quickly even under stressful conditions.
-- Troubleshoot technical hurdles that may arise in a workflow. And trouble shoot technical issues with the equipment.
-- Have a great attitude and be good with clients, editors and staff.
-- Must have experience working on TV, Commercial, Music Video projects.
-- Must be available to work some weekends.
