Dates Worked: 10/12/2016-2/10/2017
Considerations: Extended hours, weekend work, and some holidays will be required leading up to and during the Film Festival. Position may be required to be housed in Park City during the Festival.
Position Summary: Manages the design layouts and production of Festival print and digital publications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees the production layout of two Festival Film Guides (print and digital), a Festival Catalog (approx. 300 pages), Press and Industry Guide, and the Directors Guide (8.5x11'' PDF doc.) utilizing existing templates.
• Trains and manages the Festival Associate Manager, Editing.
• Manages the production approval process adhering to all deadlines and fact checking.
• Strictly adheres to and enforces publication timeline.
• Formats all Festival program data using InDesign.
• Preps, delivers files, and attends press checks with SLC based print vendor.
• Ensures publication design staff are organizing and archiving all artwork files.
• Completes a comprehensive written Festival wrap report as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Employee has legal authorization to work in the United States.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 3 years experience in publication layout.
• Experience managing staff.
• Bachelor's Degree in graphic design preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 6, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe CS5 platforms.
• Knowledge of XML exports, importing and integrating into InDesign.
• Knowledge of print production methods.
• Must be a self starter and able to motivate staff.
• Ability to lead by example and act with integrity.
• Working knowledge of Excel, FileMaker Pro, Gmail, Google Drive and Calendar.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
• A professional attitude and demeanor (tact, sensitivity, and diplomacy).
• Detail oriented, able to audit work to avoid mistakes, and perform tasks accurately.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong conceptual, typographic, and visual communication skills.
