Considerations: Extended hours, weekend work, and some holidays will be required leading up to the Film Festival and project deadlines.
Position Summary: Creates designs and materials for assigned campaigns that reflect identity, follows style guide and established messaging for Sundance Institute's January Film Festival and Membership Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Creates a range of materials, including ads for print and digital outlets, special events, environmental graphics, sponsor signage, print and digital invites, trailer credits/tags, eblast templates, screen washes, etc.
• Collaborates with Social Media and Web colleagues to create graphic assets for use on digital platforms, including Institute web properties, external sites, social media, and more.
• Ensures graphics used by outside vendors, partners, and outlets are used appropriately.
• Assists in the production of graphic systems and design asset kits for specific Institute programs, including the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute Membership Program.
• Tracks timelines with printer to ensure deadlines are met. Attends press checks as needed.
• Assists with the production and installation of environmental graphics for the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute programs and events.
• Obtains edits and approvals required to move projects to their next stage and makes appropriate edits on projects as requested.
• Assists in training Festival design staff and seasonal interns.
• Assists in maintaining the design calendar reflecting approval due dates, printing due dates, and final deadlines.
• Contributes and saves relevant information to ensure it's backed up on shared server and central project management system.
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Employee has legal authorization to work in the United States.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 3 years of experience working as an graphic designer.
• Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or industrial design preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Ability to quickly create a variety of initial design concepts and refine them into final designs.
• Proficient in Creative Suite CC, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Working knowledge of FileMaker Pro, Excel, Gmail, Google Drive and Calendar.
• Knowledgeable in printing production methods, fabrication, and installation.
• Able to juggle multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
• Self motivated and able to take initiative.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
• A professional attitude and demeanor (tact, sensitivity, and diplomacy).
• Detail oriented, able to audit work to avoid mistakes, and perform tasks accurately.
