Considerations: Position is expected to work full time out of the Park City, UT office. Position is typically lodged in Park City, UT during the January Film Festival (lodging requirement determined annually). In addition, this role is required to work extended hours (evenings, weekends, some holidays) during key points and must be willing and available to respond to on-call needs as assigned.
Position Summary: Manages the planning, implementation and daily operations of the Park City Box Office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conducts ongoing communication and meetings with venue owner and internal stakeholders to keep all parties up-to-date on venue planning, installations and logistical needs.
• Manages seasonal staff and volunteers, includes selecting and training highly effective staff and volunteers, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure employees and volunteers understand responsibilities and are effective in their roles, and delegates appropriate and meaningful work.
• Updates ticketing system and the box office manuals.
• Conducts trainings with other stakeholders as directed.
• Provides support to the box office located at Sundance Resort as necessary.
• Designs box office space incorporating electrical, signage, equipment, security, furniture, emergency exit plans, etc.
• Orders venue items in collaboration with manager.
• Establishes a timeline and plan with production department to setup and teardown venue, to procure and return venue items and to complete installations by set deadlines.
• Provides onsite direction for venue setup and teardown.
• Creates and submits a contract for approval to cover daily janitorial service.
• Works with the volunteer department to acquire adequate volunteer coverage for Festival event needs.
• Provides ongoing and accurate information to department volunteers and provides timely responses to their inquiries.
• Trains, provides general supervision, creates schedules, and ensures evaluations are completed for department volunteers.
• Performs walkthroughs pre and post Festival to ensure venue is ready for public opening and to ensure venue is returned to original setup.
• Manages onsite operations throughout the Festival and ensures timely resolutions to issues as they arise and escalates issues as necessary to manager.
• Maintains box office inventories including office supplies, film guides, ticket stock, etc.
• Tracks petty cash, authorizes exchanges, conducts reprints, ensures cash drawers are balanced and, bank deposit sheets are complete, etc.
• Runs daily reports including sales, audit trail reports, etc. as necessary to monitor ticket agent activity on the system and to research discrepancies during reconciliation.
• Supports the customer service team by answering customer service calls and emails as directed.
• Writes a comprehensive written wrap report as directed.
• Other duties as necessary
Position Requirements:
• Employee has legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license and successful completion of DMV background check.
• 3 years experience with operational planning and implementation, venue management or related.
• Strong leadership skills with a background that includes demonstrated excellence in managing employees.
• Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to manage stressful situations
• Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Microsoft and Google Products.
• Outstanding communication skills, telephone, written and interpersonal skills required to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Excellent organizational skills including self management of work schedule ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines and events.
• Able to move, lift and carry items that weigh 25-50 lbs.
Preferred Education
, Experience and Skills:
• Experience facilitating trainings for large groups preferred.
• Experience working with Toptix or another ticketing system preferred.
