Stephens College seeks a highly creative and experienced narrative filmmaker with the ability to teach and develop courses in narrative filmmaking and/or narrative animation. Must have experience creating and distributing narrative films; commitment to continuing to produce their own creative work. The digital filmmaking program blends hands-on production courses with film theory and critical thinking skills. Students learn through mentoring and working closely with and alongside faculty in small classes. Understanding of the current independent film industry and technology is required. The successful candidate must have the ability to teach a broad range of introductory and advanced courses in narrative filmmaking and film theory.

Required qualifications:
• MFA in film or film related field
• Professional experience in creating and distributing narrative films or narrative animation.
• Significant digital camera, sound, and lighting experience in HD format
• Technical proficiency in Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and sound design software
• Demonstrated teaching experience at a college level including film production and film theory courses
• Appreciation of women in film and media

Desired qualifications include:
• Experience in film festival or film series programming
• Experience in film festival management
• New media and interactive web skills
• Experience using social media for film production and distribution
