Marketing & Communications Director (Theatrical)
Job Description
Steele Spring Stage Rights, one of the foremost independent theatrical publishers in the United States, is seeking to fill the position of Marketing & Communications Director in their Los Angeles office. Responsibilities include the planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities for the company's theatrical properties (plays and musicals) to theaters and producers worldwide. Identifying and cultivating new theater clients (professional and amateur) is a major responsibility, and knowledge of the theatrical community across the country is required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills; strong creative and strategic planning skills; and demonstrated computer literacy in desktop publishing in an all-mac environment. The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented and organized with the ability to respond effectively and efficiently while maintaining flexibility. Reliable transportation is required.
Responsibilities
• Creation and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic targeted marketing campaign for all theatrical properties through print and online media to theatrical clients.
• Identify and facilitate new client acquisition; cultivate and maintain new relationships with theatrical producers and companies throughout the country.
• Comprehensive maintenance of all mailing and communication lists.
• Creation of all press materials for licensing and marketing purposes.
• Editorial direction, graphic design, production and distribution of all company publications.
• Maintenance and coordination of company website.
• Enhancement of the image and brand of the company in the theatrical community.
• Office duties include maintenance of FileMaker databases of clients.
• Lead projects as assigned.
Qualifications
• Intimate knowledge of theater and the theatrical community in general.
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
• Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills.
• Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases and marketing materials.
• Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Professional and team oriented with the demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize
• Computer literacy in word processing and page layout.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience working in the theater field
• Experience working with DropBox
• Experience with Adobe Suite of Graphic Design tools & FileMaker
• Mac Literate
Full Time Position in Los Angeles, CA.
Overnight out-of-town travel is occasionally required.
