We are looking for a leader to join our Tour Management team on the road.
What's a Tour Manager's main purpose?
Make sure everything happens, when it's supposed to happen, how it's supposed to happen.
What does a Tour Manager do?
Tour Managers are multi-tasking heroes who effectively maintain the perfect balance between traveling and office life.
• Manage 9 road warriors, 3 judges, venue staff and truck drivers
• Efficiently troubleshoot all equipment including A/V
• Manage load in & out of a 38 foot semi truck at different venues each week
• Go-to person for all guest relations. You are the face of StarQuest, and will greet each studio director as they enter the building. Your ultimate goal is to build relationships with each and every studio. If ever an issue arises, you will be the one to handle it
• Anticipate and address guests' questions, comments and concerns to deliver an overall remarkable experience and customer service to everyone who walks through the doors
• Ensure consistent quality of the show at all times (overall upkeep of environment, venue, staff, equipment and guests)
• Review auditor paperwork (judges' score sheets) throughout competition and proof before each award ceremony
• Review judges' critiques and manage 3 judges each weekend
• Provide breaks to the stage manager
• In the office: create the event schedule, tech advance venues and multiple other tasks related to preparing for each event
• Mentor the road warriors and judges to ensure proper growth throughout the season
What are we looking for?
• Easily adaptable to any situation
• Impeccable work ethic & extraordinarily creative
• Problem solver who lives, eats and breathes for logic problems and troubleshooting
• Passionate, self-reliant leader. Confident and practiced in leading a large team of people
• Strong communicator
• Master of time management & multi-tasking
• Dedication to delivering an impeccable experience
• Confident in their ability to learn quickly and execute any and all tasks
• Charismatic personality with a sense of humor
• Customer service perfectionist. Does not get scared easily by angry guests
• Previous production management and/or tour management experience mostly in an entertainment/live sporting event atmosphere
• Knowledge of the dance competition industry, prior touring experience, and prior leadership/management experience are all a BIG plus!
What's in it for you?
This will be the most challenging, but also the most rewarding job you will take on. You will work long hours with minimal sleep and manage teams who are also working long hours with little sleep. It will be physically and mentally demanding.
We have high expectations for not only our Tour Managers, but also every member of our staff. We are dedicated to providing the best experience possible for every guests attending each weekend. We are also dedicated to providing the best overall experience for our staff. We want to ensure that each individual grows not only as a SQ employee, but as a human being.

All of our full time employees, including our Executive Board, started off as part-time office staff or seasonal road warriors.
