Stage Door Workshops is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven event manager gifted with creativity and fortified with a ''can do'' attitude to help produce customized dance workshops and dance events.
Main responsibility will be assisting with booking new dance studio owner clients as well as planning and managing all details of dance events and dance trips, ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered and events run smoothly.
Responsibilities Include:
• Creating proposals with the intention of booking new clients
• Creating a budget for each event
• Booking venues and negotiating fees.
• Delivering events on time, within budget, that meet and exceed expectations.
• Assisting with maintenance of event budget(s). Regularly review event budget(s) with Event Director(s) and staff management.
• Working with Management to conceptualize improvements and changes to event(s).
• Serve as day-of point person to coordinate all vendor and site crew activity.
• Assisting Event Director(s) and management staff in coordination of breakdown and cleanup.
• Facilitating the creation, execution and delivery of event materials
• Staffing faculty for events and communicating details of workshops with dance faculty
• Gathering and compiling notes and creating a comprehensive post-event assessment.
• Documenting new and updating old event processes, management documents, and training guides for the event(s)
• Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project
• Communicating, maintaining and developing client relationships
• Providing leadership, motivation, direction and support to your team
• Travelling to on site inspections and project managing events
• Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery
• Organizing, facilitating and managing all details of events such as creation of workshops, scheduling staffing, travel arrangements, program creation both in studios and schools nationwide as well as in NYC and LA
• Expanding our faculty base of industry professionals
• Traveling to / running the events
• Acting as a liaison between Stage Door Workshops and the faculty and studio clients
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree and 2 to 3 years relevant experience in event planning or operations. Extensive relevant experience may also be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency in various productivity platforms, online services, and databases, including: Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Photoshop, InDesign.
• Knowledge of and experience working with large-scale events.
• Excellent communication skills. Position requires frequent contact with the public, clients, vendors, faculty, and persons of high rank.
• Strong time-management abilities and the capability to deliver results on strict timetables.
• Strong personal work ethic and the desire to take pride in assigned work.
• Ability to think on your feet and perform well under pressure
• Strong analytical skills, including great attention to detail and the patience to manage and maintain large pools of information and data.
• Knowledge of the dance studio, dance competition, musical theater industry
• Ability to move fast and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment
• Good sense of humor and team player
• Knowledge of the commercial, Broadway and concert dance industry a HUGE plus
