Full Time Unpaid Internship
Do you love to throw parties, and even more so on someone else’s dime? If you’re hospitality focused and customer service oriented then the Special Events Internship just may be the party you need to crash. You will assist the Special Events team in selling, coordinating, and managing the execution of internal and external special events. You will learn how a Special Events department operates, and then apply that knowledge in your chosen field of education. Currently the department hosts over 400 events and photo sessions per year. You must be available for days, nights, and weekends. The internship is from January through May.
Essential Functions of the Job:
• Assist in both the production of events and the sales and marketing of special events venues at Busch Stadium for non-game day events.
• Communicate with current and prospective clients by e-mail and phone and be involved in planning small client meetings.
• Support the department coordinators in event production and will serve as onsite staff at many events.
• Manage the department’s event equipment, photo library and other department physical and electronic resources.
• May conduct research projects to gain market insight.
Education and Experience Preferred:
• Current enrollment in an accredited program at a College or University with a degree emphasis in Hospitality Management, Public Relations.
• Experience with direct client contact and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience Required:
• Current enrollment in an accredited program at a College or University with a degree emphasis in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field
• Minimum Junior status level.
• Experience with both internal and external communication methods.
• Event or sales/marketing experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to stand on feet and walk comfortably for long periods of time.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Must be eligible to receive school credit for Internship.
