Full Time Unpaid Internship
Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary goal of this position is to assist the Publications team in the editing process, writing departmental copy, and customer service in support of the Cardinals Publications. This position will learn how a Publications department operates and to utilize that knowledge in the publications field or a related area. This position must be available for days, nights, and weekends and the candidate must be eligible to receive school credit upon completion of the internship. The internship is from January to May.
Essential Functions of the Job:
• Take customer orders by phone, recording contact and credit card
• Pull online orders
• Prepare mailing lists, organize and sort mail, mail customer orders, mail renewal letters and other special offer letters, sort and organize past order forms for storage
• Assist in the transport of publications’ products in and around Busch Stadium and to and from local vendors
• Assist in the editing process, displaying knowledge of the AP Stylebook and competent editing and grammar skills
• Assist in the writing of departmental copy, requiring occasional interviews with current and past players
• Assist staff with other special projects as instructed by publisher
• Candidate must also be eligible to receive school credit upon completion of the internship.
• Candidate must be available for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience Preferred:
• Current enrollment in an accredited program at a College or University required with a degree emphasis in Journalism, English, or Communications, and at least a Junior year.
• Must have prior work experience, preferably in the realm of customer service.
• Demonstrate strong writing and editing skills.
• Be a fan of the Cardinals and display some knowledge of the current team.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Mac, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pick up boxes (approximately 20lbs each) and push carts around the stadium.
Education and Experience Required:
