Role Description
The Digital Media Assistant will work with the SXSWedu marketing team through the 2017 event to assist with messaging, content and communication through various channels including social media, web, video and more. Additionally, they will work with and support SXSWedu's media and press leading into the event. This role requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of digital media and a solid understanding and passion for branding. Ideal candidates are flexible, creative and willing to take on special projects as necessary. This position begins immediately and ends in April, 2017.
This position is based in our Austin, Texas office. Remote employment is not available for this role.

Required Skills
• Maintain and monitor digital media channels (web, social media, etc.)
• Develop, edit and write content and blog posts for sxswedu.com
• Respond to consumer feedback on social media
• Assist with production and planning for onsite digital media efforts at SXSWedu
• Prepare reports and analysis of various digital media channels
• Support media and press needs leading into SXSWedu
• Mandatory Saturday and pre-event meetings in February and March
• Must be available for the duration of SXSWedu and SXSW, March 6-19
• MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE DURATION OF THE SXSW EVENT
Desired Skills
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Experience in marketing or digital media
• Self-starter with strong prioritization and organization skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen attention to detail
• Reliable, confident and able to execute tasks with minimal oversight
• Excellent writing, copy editing and verbal communication skills
• Interest/experience in education
• Proficiency with Mac iOS and the Google suite
• Experience in coding, photo editing and design suites are a plus
