Sony Pictures Home Entertainment International distributes studio films, acquired films and TV shows in both physical and digital markets through operations in 20 countries and various licensing relationships globally.
SPHEI is seeking a highly motivated senior financial analyst to join the budgeting & forecasting team in a role that supports various functions/product owners, including SPHEI regional management, Corporate Finance, Motion Picture Group, Worldwide Acquisitions, and Television.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in financial planning and reporting in an international environment, and a demonstrated ability to learn and enhance reporting systems, processes, and analyses. An interest in the business side of the entertainment industry, especially in the evolving Home Entertainment landscape, is critical for success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Annual budget, quarterly forecasts and mid-range plan for titles and overhead
• Function as a liaison to the international finance team throughout the planning process
• Review financial plans for reasonableness measured against key KPIs
• Prepare analysis and reconciliations of actual results to plans, including FX impacts
• Identify and elevate key issues to territory analysts to obtain resolution
• Support the consolidation process and data loading for both physical and digital formats
• Maintain reports, budget and forecast databases and integrity of master data
• Prepare, test and maintain templates for use by territory teams
• Prepare quarterly Cash Flow forecast and perform regular testing of assumptions
• Prepare corporate submission files: P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
* Planning Systems and Tools: actively participate in development of business planning systems and tools, including testing of new features and reports, and issue resolution.
* Ultimates: Prepare, analyze, and maintain quarterly ultimates and SOX documentation
• Assist in the studio title Greenlight process and evaluation of ultimates after release
• Update key title ultimate tracking database for daily changes in expectations
* Special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests
Requirements:
-Minimum of 3-4 years work experience in a finance function
-Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or economics from an accredited four year university
-Strong understanding of US GAAP, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements
-SAP and BW experience (or similar ERP system) required
-SEM and Essbase experience is a plus
-Very strong Excel skills geared to manage large quantities of data including model building
-Understanding of foreign exchange calculation and analysis
-Entertainment and particularly Home Video or Digital experience preferred
-Detail oriented but able to see the 'big picture'
-Strong analytical, communication, project management and organizational skills
-Ability to manage multiple projects and respond to changing priorities quickly
-Ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment
