General Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for the accounting for SPT’s Digital Network Crackle Latin America’s content expenses, assets, liabilities, commitments and the monthly close. The role will also be responsible for the accounting related to general office allocations. This individual will report directly to the Senior Accountant and liaise regularly with Crackle Operations staff (Miami and Los Angeles).
Responsibilities:
30% Accounting Month-End Close: Month-end close process for Crackle Latin America. Prepare journal entries for revenue recognition; cost of sales, expenses etc. for various key financial statement accounts during the month-end close process. Analyze accounts and prepare monthly accruals. Assist with the monthly financial reports. Also, will work on monthly pro-card reconciliations.
30% Programming: Review Crackle Latin America’s content licensing agreements and document the appropriate accounting treatments in accordance with GAAP. Maintain appropriate organized documentation for content contracts. Calculate revenue share allocations, revenue allocation by title and music royalty fees.
15% Account Reconciliations: Monthly review and reconciliation of all Crackle Latin America’s financial statement and general ledger accounts. Verify all sub-ledgers are reconciled with general ledger. Verify all intercompany accounts are balanced. Provide corresponding support documentation for all reconciliations.
15% Accounting Documentation: Prepare metrics and analysis in support of Crackle Latin America operations. Provide support for financial statement audit, periodic internal audits and tax requests as necessary. Maintain organized documentation for all facets of the accounting cycle.
5% Office Allocation Accounting: Maintain Excel log for all SPT departments and corresponding allocations for office space and general office expenses/supplies. Coordinate the chargebacks to non-SPT departments (i.e. 2WayTraffic, Sony Ericsson).
5% Miscellaneous: Requests and any other special projects assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of all facets of GAAP.
Knowledge of SAP
Knowledgeable in Windows, Word; Advanced Excel.
Time management, as necessary for assigned tasks.
Accurate data entry for optimum job performance.
Fluent in Spanish and English, oral and written is desired but not required.
An excellent prioritization skill is essential.
Handle day-to-day responsibilities with minimum supervision.
Ability to make commitment and meet deadlines.
Self-starter and independent thinker.
Ability to be proactive vs. reactive as it pertains to goals and projects.
Effective combination of analytical, organizational and communication skills is required.
People oriented and team player, ability to work well with all level of employees and awareness of cultural diversity.
Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in accounting, and minimum of one year of experience of entertainment industry.
Education: Bachelor's degree is required
