Senior Financial Analyst - Theatrical & Consumer Products
The Senior Financial Analyst is an integral member of the Sony Finance team, responsible for providing operational and financial support. The role provides dual-division support to both worldwide theatrical marketing & distribution and consumer products. It manages the financial planning, strategy and operations of $500 million in domestic theatrical marketing & distribution costs, oversees the consumer products quarterly revenue forecasting process and prepares financial analysis to summarize revenue projections/trends by licensee, title, category, and market. It also works with licensees, agents, and accounting team to ensure accuracy of consume product royalty reporting and streamline processes for identifying and collecting outstanding payments.
Responsibilities:
• Manage marketing budgets:
• Facilitate vendor set-up for the department.
• Manage department purchase orders and invoices to ensure spending is within budget and coded to proper account.
• Work with Accounts Payable to resolve payment inquiries and ensure timely processing of invoices for marketing & distribution costs.
• Utilize budget system to monitor spending and review/investigate activities that flow through the department's marketing expense.
• Develop budget management reports to track and communicate actual spending vs. budget.
• Create working budgets to estimate future spending and budgetary needs by-title.
• Support annual MRP, Division Budget, quarterly forecasts and other financial reporting cycles.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in analytical roles preferably in the areas of entertainment, consumer goods and IP licensing.
EDUCATION
• BA/BS degree required in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
SKILLS
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong knowledge of financial models and budgets.
• General knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• Problem-solving and organizational skills required.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines.
• Proven ability to perform well, both independently and as a team.
• Ability to build strong professional relationships, particularly with senior management both in Operations and Finance and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
