Executive Director, Finance
General Summary
ED Financial Planning & Analysis US Television Production
Responsibilities:
• Reports directly to the SVP Finance and manages a team of six professionals
• Responsible for all aspects of the financial planning process for both the income statement and cash flow. This includes mid-range plan, quarterly forecast, and budget processes
• Build and maintain series ultimates for purposes of financial reporting, and planning in accordance with GAAP and ASC 926
• Maintain appropriate controls within the planning and ultimate process as required by Sarbanes Oxley
• Partner with Business Affairs to develop financial models in support of talent and network negotiations
• Prepare financial models for ''greenlight'' approval of all series and pilots ordered to production, ensuring that financial metrics are in line with company financial targets
• Work closely with distribution divisions to understand distribution ultimates along with annual revenue and cost
• Prepare financial presentations for operations
• Develop and implement processes to leverage existing tools and streamline workflows.
• Complete special projects for operations and finance as necessary.
Job Requirements
• BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required
• Ten years public and/or private accounting experience required. TV production industry experience a plus.
• Five years hands on experience with ultimate accounting in accordance with ASC 926
• CPA and/or MBA preferred
• Entertainment experience preferred
• SAP or Essbase knowledge preferred
• Strong MS Excel skills required
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem solve
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects
• Strong accounting / GAAP knowledge
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and PC skills
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management
