Search for Licensing Position jobs in Nashville-TN
Sony/ATV in Nashville is seeking to hire an experienced licensing person to manage our Licensing department.
The licensing position will have the following responsibilities:
*Manage licensing team in meeting departmental goals
*Work with labels, DSPs and third party administrators to ensure mechanical licenses are secured
*Manage relationships with key licensing staff at labels, DSPs and third party administrators
*Draft and administer direct licenses and license activity with labels and DSPs
*Ensure licensing data in internal systems is maintained accurately
*Communicate with affiliates and writer representatives for reduced rate requests
*Ensure controlled composition rates are correctly calculated and licensed
*Liaise with Copyright department and labels on resolution of missing shares or disputed songs
*Liaise with Business Affairs on song issues and license rate information
*Manage preparation and distribution of various license reports
A qualified candidate must possess the following skills:
*Minimum of five years' experience working with mechanical licenses
*Minimum of three years' experience managing staff or team members
*Thorough knowledge of controlled composition provisions and their various applications
*Highly organized and detailed oriented, while exhibiting the ability to manage and prioritize large volumes of work
*Manage others; providing direction, support, leadership and encouragement in achieving department goals
*Maintain a positive attitude while working under deadlines
*Self-motivated with the ability to produce high quality work with minimal supervision
*Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
*Experience working in systems including consulting, developing or testing
*Demonstrated ability to work effectively with experts from the music/entertainment industry and related business community including attorneys, senior management, etc
*Strong oral and written communication skills
