SUMMARY OF POSITION
Television production and distribution company seeks an experienced Vice President, Finance to join its Los Angeles team. The Vice President will report to the Chief Financial Officer/Controller and oversee forecasting, budgeting and long range planning, financial modeling, the ultimates estimation and review process, 3rd party financing options, the asset valuation process and assist in the preparation of management board presentations. Job responsibilities include:
- managing all strategic and financial planning cycles including quarterly forecasts, annual budget and the long range plan
- owning the financial modeling process including partnering with various department heads to develop and validate all assumptions
- preparation and presentation of greenlight analyses for management sign off
- review of all monthly financial reporting (including MD&A and Financial Dashboard)
- preparation of production and sales-related reporting and analyses for management presentation purposes
- management and review of the ultimates estimation process
- exploration of 3rd party financing options for various projects
- management of the asset valuation process
- preparation of documents for quarterly Board of Directors meetings
- fulfilling ad-hoc requests from EVP, CFO & CFO
EXPERIENCE
• Extensive experience in planning, forecasting, modeling and business strategy required
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent required
• Television production industry experience required
• MBA strongly preferred
• Minimum 10 years of management experience in a finance role
• Experience with banking / asset valuations a plus
• Experience working with private equity firms a plus
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
• Strong understanding of the entertainment industry, particularly scripted television
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent communication across all levels and departments within company and externally
• Proven effective leadership, management and supervisory skills
• Proven presentation skills
OTHER ABILITIES
• Must have strong competency in working with multiple systems and applications; must have aptitude to quickly learn new technologies and information systems
• Excellent verbal and written communications required; must be an effective presenter
• Very strong analytical and problem solving skills required; must be able to build processes
• Very strong planning, organizational, time management skills required; must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and management required
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality
• Must be detail oriented
• Must be a team player; must be able to adapt and lead in a team environment
• Must be able to work overtime, as needed
• Must be a confident individual who is a quick learner and self-starter
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines
• Willingness to do light travel domestically and internationally
