The ideal candidate for this position has a true passion for PR and has a minimum of two years of entertainment PR experience. This role requires a strong degree of multitasking, a sharp focus for details and an innate sense of urgency to promptly respond to team and media requests. Candidate has an understanding that PR is not a 9-5 job.
Other attributes and traits candidate must possess include, but are not limited to, the below:
• Excellent project management and organization skills
• Time management is key
• Exceptional writer. Recognized for ''near-perfection'' writing and editing skills, often asked to edit the work of others
• Exceptional verbal communications skills
• Experience with Vocus Software. Exceptional with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated ability as a self-starter, detail-oriented
• Team player with leadership skills. Ability and desire to interact with people at all management levels
• Familiarity with standard marketing/communications concepts and practices
• B.A. in Marketing, Journalism, Business, Communications or related area
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the below:
• Compose and execute pitches and media alerts for a variety of projects ranging from television, digital and interactive content, comics, and more.
• Maintain editorial/events calendars
• Maintain multiple press lists with Vocus
• Assist with event planning and maintaining event costs/budgets
• Book executive and talent travel and accommodations and create itineraries.
• Research festivals, panels and activation opportunities.
• Perform administrative duties including organizing expense reports, managing PR equipment, mailing packages, booking team meetings
• Publicity coordinator will also help manage publicity assistant and will work under the company's publicity director.
