Connecticut based theatrical scene shop is looking for an individual to assist in the building, shop setup, installation, onsite programming and troubleshooting of its automation control system. The applicant must be a self-starter, have an attention to detail, be able to lift 75 lbs, and have experience with theatrical automation. This is an hourly position with health and retirement benefits. Additional job requirements are listed below. Pay is based on experience.
• Become proficient in the stock mechanical components and automation control systems currently in use on all projects
• Responsible for setting up and programming all mechanical and automation components before the FAT at ShowMotion.
• Be present at the shop for the FAT of all mechanical components before they leave the shop to be installed onsite.
• Perform quality control on all mechanical equipment and automation control systems leaving the shop.
• Be on call to answer any phone calls from the various shows. An on call schedule shall be created by the Director of Automation.
• Travel to site to install and program all mechanical and automation control systems
• Be responsible for instructing the show automation operators in the proper programming and troubleshooting of show specific equipment
• Be available on an ''on call'' basis to travel to sites to troubleshoot/fix any mechanical/automation issues as directed by the Director of Automation.
