Search for Assistant To Director Of Automation jobs in Milford-CT
Connecticut based theatrical scene shop is looking for an individual to assist the Director of Automation with the design, build, and maintenance of its huge stock of rental automation equipment. The applicant must be a self-starter, have an attention to detail, and be able to lift 75 lbs. This is an hourly position with health and retirement benefits. Additional job requirements are listed below. Pay is based on experience.
• Assist the Director of Automation in preparing axis lists and schedules for various shows
• Assist the in the design and installation of hydraulic systems
• Build and prepare all computers needed for the shows and maintain an adequate supply of spares.
• Assist the Director of Automation and/or Special Projects Manager in designing any custom control equipment on an as needed basis.
• Assist in the construction of any new automation equipment
• Manage daily tasks of the automation/electric shop staff to ensure deadlines are met
• Perform quality control on all mechanical and automation components and control systems leaving the shop
• Be willing to travel to various theaters to assist in the installation and/or troubleshooting of any automation equipment
• Assist in the design and creation of drawings for mechanical or automation components under the direction of the Director of Automation.
• Work with Show Carpenter and/or Technical Supervisor and Director of Automation in creating packing lists for chain motor and associated rigging.
• Assist the Electric's Shop Foreman in maintaining an adequate supply of stock electrical components.
• Create purchase orders based on requests from the Automation Technicians to ensure an adequate stock of automation equipment and spares are kept on hand at all times.
• Create packing lists for equipment needed to be sent to all shows as replacements.
