Shout! Factory is seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant to work in our Finance department. We offer consumers an array of nostalgic TV shows, cult and popular films, animation, and classic and contemporary music on DVD, Blu-ray, television, and a wide array of digital distribution outlets. We value creativity, quality work and an entrepreneurial spirit. We also place an emphasis on fulfilling expectations by providing outstanding product and customer service.
With educational and hands-on experience, the Sr. Staff Accountant will supervise all areas of accounting functions such as A/R, A/P and general accounting. A complete listing of key responsibilities is detailed below.
Reports to: Controller
Responsibilities
• Timely month, quarter and year-end adjusting and closing journal entries in NetSuite
• Timely and accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Timely filing of sales and use tax to various states
• Preparation and reconciliation of various reports from distributors foreign and domestic (such as Cinedigm, Universal Music US and Universal Music Canada) including sales, inventory, co-op ads, and the monthly statement.
• Assists in provision of work papers to the outside auditors for the annual audit and tax filing
• Accurate 1099 annual reporting
• Assists in the documentation and update of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Maintains and reconciles the subsidiary ledgers (A/R, A/P and Inventory) to the general ledger
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or like field
• CPA preferred but not required
• Hands-on experience in the entertainment industry, product distribution and on-line sales
• At least 2 years job experience as a Staff Accountant
• Advance Excel 2010 user
• Experience in top-tier accounting software
