Part-Time Assistant Video Editor
See3 Communications, an online communications agency located in Chicago, IL, is looking for an assistant editor who loves all things post-production and is looking for stable work one-two days a week. Primary responsibilities include media management, preparing material for editors, editing string-outs, creating deliverables, and software/hardware troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, dependable, committed to nonprofit and social cause work, and curious to learn more about the technical and creative aspects of video post production.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, Feb 15 EOD
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Intake of media and preparation of projects for editorial.
- Proper cataloging, organizing, and archiving of all video materials (newly acquired and legacy materials).
- Create deliverables and respond to client requests.
- Maintain post-production and production equipment.
- Assist freelance editors with workflow and department process.
- Research and stay up to date on hardware/software advancements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
- Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
- 1-2 years experience in professional video post-production.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Photoshop & Media Encoder, as well as Mac OS X operating systems.
- Solid ability to make corrections to work in Adobe After Effects required.
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and video equipment a plus.
- High aptitude for technical aspects of video post-production including video codecs and compression, storage solutions and connectivity, familiarity with SAN, and hardware architecture.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues with video workflows and post-production hardware.
