Full Time Job
Develops and prepares the organization's tax returns as well as analyzes financial transactions to determine the tax impact on the company and shareholders.
Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepares and maintains tax records, returns, reports and other related materials
• Participates in the implementation of tax strategy
• Devises legal means to minimize tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Recommends alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden
• Prepare correspondence with external tax agencies and consultants (for example, auditors)
• Conducts research and analyses of existing and upcoming tax legislation (domestic and/or international) to support the organization's tax planning and strategy
• Conducts research as necessary to advise management of the tax implications resulting from projected organizational actions
Education & Experience
• BS/BA in related discipline and 2-5 years of experience in related field - OR -
• MS/MA/MBA or other graduate degree and 2-4 years of experience in related field
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Applies fundamental functional/technical and business knowledge typically gained through formal education to deliver assigned work
• Seeks guidance on new or unfamiliar tasks
• Keeps others informed of workload, timeline, and resources needed to accomplish tasks
Computer/Technical
• Proficient working with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
• Strong PC background, with demonstrated proficiency with Windows 7, Excel, Word, and MS Access
• Experience with Hyperion and PeopleSoft a plus
Other
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
• Strong organizational skills with ability to act independently and responsibly
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work collaboratively with team members
• Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups
• Employees will also perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Work Environment
• Frequently sits at a computer terminal and desk
• Frequently walks to other areas within or outside of the department to distribute or gather information
• Occasional standing; occasional lifting moderate loads up to 25 lbs. ; frequent bending
• Stooping, crouching while filing; occasional reaching, twisting, turning
• Frequent handling of files, pencils, paper; frequent keyboarding, writing and other duties requiring fingering
• Continuous hearing
• Use of near/midrange/far vision, and speaking to disseminate information
