Job Description:
Food.com, the web's third largest and fastest growing food and cooking social network with more than 500,000 recipes, seeks a strategic Social Media Specialist to join our growing team and create compelling social food content and engage our audience. This is a hands-on, dynamic, full-time role for a candidate who is passionate about social digital media and wants to join a collaborative team of food.com lovers who strongly believe in our brand and product, and also strongly believe in having fun.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
• Work with Social Media Strategy Manager, Site Director and Editorial to create clickable, engaging and buzzworthy content for food.com audiences across platforms.
• Monitor, moderate and manage conversations between community members across Food.com and Food.com social channels, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and more.
• Partner with the Social Media Strategy Manager to ideate, propose, and execute new and buzzworthy social brand initiatives, leveraging the activity and user-generated content of food.com community members as well as editorial content, such as recipes, photo galleries, how-tos, videos and more.
• Write strong, engaging copy across all social media platforms on an everyday basis.
• Work to engage Food.com's existing audiences and reach new audience
• Leverage strengths of each social platform to increase onsite user engagement, increase audience awareness and expand Food.com's share of the digital food category, and share analytics on those endeavors.
• Be an active participant in team Food.com's editorial and social brainstorm and production meetings for new content
• Contribute content and ideas to Food.com's social video program, including Facebook Live
YOU
• You have 2 years of experience in digital media, social media or production role; bachelor's degree in communications, media, journalism a plus.
• You're known as the social media guru and know the ins and outs of all things FB, Insta, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest etc., and what content does well on which platforms
• You know a beautiful food photograph when they see one (and doesn't hurt if you can take one!)
• You have practical experience of implementing successful social media campaigns
• You're passionate about all things food
• You have some experience in design and photo editing / familiarity with photoshop
• You're a collaborative team player who can also execute independently when needed
• You have familiarity with SEO tools and concepts
• You have experience with social video experience
• You're comfortable pulling digital analytics and have the ability to pivot strategically based on data
• You're an independent self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and keen analytical skills
• You have experience with and knowledge of promoting food content around editorial food calendar
• You have strong copywriting skills and journalism experience and editorial sensibility with a sense of fun
• You have experience with online social publishing tools such as Spredfast
