Job Description:
Scripps Networks Interactive, the leader in lifestyle media with top brands such as HGTV, Food Network, and Travel Channel, is searching for a Receptionist.
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
• Greet/direct guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
• Answer multi-line phone system in a professional and courteous manner.
• Transfer calls to appropriate department or employee.
• Assist with cross-training other employees in the receptionist role.
• Keep receptionist manual up to date so employees can fill in when unplanned absence occurs.
• Maintain general appearance of lobby and front desk area.
• Maintain current magazines in reception area.
• Stock candy at reception area.
• Turn on/off video monitors.
• Maintain content of video wall; trouble-shoot when necessary.
• Maintain visitor log.
• Distribute visitor badges.
• Assist with unsubscribing from unwanted mail.
• Assist Safety and Security with upkeep of Safety Data Sheets.
• Coordinate department luncheons.
• Perform duties of Document Retention Manager for Facilities.
• Order flowers/fruit baskets for surgeries, deaths in family, etc.
• Maintain a departmental calendar and distribute cards to managers for employees' birthdays and anniversaries.
• Maintain the iridium satellite phone.
YOU
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years' receptionist experience preferred.
• Equipment: Computer required including Power Point, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. Multi-line phone system.
• Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills a must.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must possess excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated and work independently.
• Attention to detail a must.
