Job Description:
The Scripps Networks Interactive digital team is seeking an ambitious senior level Project Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of multiple mobile/web content development projects for our lifestyle brands specifically our award-winning app, In the Kitchen. This team player must have demonstrated experience in successfully managing and delivering in fast-paced companies for multi-project enterprise efforts in an agile environment. The candidate will lead coordination of functional teams to build and iteratively develop technology assets as it relates to content and other interactive outlets as they arise. They will also lead the development and maintain schedule of project lifecycle phases through project management software and other relevant software. Serving as lead communication point person for project scheduling, follow up, status and problem solving for all teams invested in the project and product, this role will be working closely with development, platform, product, content, UX/design, ad sales, and research teams as well as third party development vendors and service providers. Communicating updates on cost and resource estimations; project planning and scheduling is also key in this role as well as communicating the project objectives, priorities and direction to all stakeholders. The ability to work well with others in a group environment is also required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate to define feature/function requirements with team and lead the delivery of set priorities for each project
• Maintain the rapid-development schedule, setting comparative priorities for multiple, concurrent small to medium scale projects
• Leads on-schedule development and on budget deployment of projects
• Lead project meetings to inform and guide project participants as well as build and motivate these teams
• Track project status to ensure timely completion
• Report on project status and resource and schedule conflicts to site teams and interactive staff
• Make recommendations for resolving project conflicts to management
• Monitor financials for project spend, inclusive of forecasting and tracking actuals for capital and expense costs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Comfortable and experienced in leading project teams in an agile environment for mobile/web product development as well as scrum master experience is preferred
• Anticipates and prevents problems and roadblocks before they occur with a keen sense of urgency
• Ability to troubleshoot and determine cause of errors
• Ability to perform operations analysis including analyzing needs and product requirements
• Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
• Knowledge of industry best practices for technical documentation
• Ability to focus both strategically and tactically to achieve business goals
• Excellent organization and time management skills are required
• Critical thinking and logical reasoning skills are key as well as data driven decision making
• Must have experience with budget management
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Ability to generate or adapt technology to serve user needs
• Proven track record of delivering projects
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time as well as changing priorities
• Must be able to work independently and possess effective time management skills
• Ability to collaborate with technology resources on projects given solid understanding of current internet technologies and trends
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple people and departments
Education
and Experience
• BS/BA in related discipline and at least 5-8 years of experience working as a project manager in Digital Media
• MS/MA/MBA or other graduate degree and at least 3-5 year of experience in related field
• Agile experience and/or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification is preferred
