Job Description:
The Internal Communications Specialist reports to the Vice President of Corporate Communications and is an integral part of the internal communications team located at our headquarters in Knoxville, Tenn. The internal communications team utilizes a variety of platforms and formats to drive meaningful messaging to Scripps Networks Interactive's employees around the globe.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
• Provide employees with the knowledge and tools to be more efficient and more effective through the active communication of company strategies, policies and initiatives.
• Serve as the internal communications partner for assigned business units and functions to assist with message strategy, campaign development, and the creation, execution and measurement of various communications collateral.
• Contribute to our extremely popular employee communication platforms including daily emails, monthly posters and quarterly newsletter.
• Write, film, photograph, edit, update and publish content on the company's intranet and other employee communication vehicles.
• Build strong relationships throughout the company to tap into newsworthy, fun, interesting and helpful items for communication and dissemination; and also use this network to test ideas and individual messages for tone, understanding, inclusion and inventiveness.
• Find unique voices, speak authentically at all times, and use the power of storytelling to bring people along on the journey.
• Identify new trends and methods of communication then be fearless in exploring them so that we continually evolve the ways in which we connect with our employees.
• Know that executional excellence and creating the most positive user experience possible is utmost to all that we do in order to gain the trust and engagement of employees.
• Enable collaboration and drive deeper understanding of the business.
• Establish strong objectives along with smart timelines and measurements, continually apply learnings and course correct as needed to achieve a superior outcome.

• Provide communication support to other various executive and employee needs as directed.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO HAVE?
Experience
• Bachelors or other degree in a related discipline.
• Two years of related experience.
Skills
• Exceptional communication skills across all channels.
• Good project management and process skills.
• Natural leader with stellar interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Ability to generate creative concepts, evaluate, collaborate, influence and engage in healthy debate and discussion.
• Enthusiastic, ''can-do'' attitude with a drive to get things done even under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Prioritization and high attention to detail.
• Experience working with a global organization a plus.
